Chinese-speaking dentists in Sydney

Dentists check your teeth and gums, clean, fill and extract teeth, and do crowns and root canals — and refer you to specialists such as orthodontists. Explaining pain or sensitivity in your own language makes a visit much easier.

When to see a dentist

  • Regular check-ups and cleans (many dentists suggest every 6–12 months)
  • Toothache, sensitivity or bleeding gums
  • Chipped teeth, lost fillings or needing a crown

How Extras usually pays

Typical price $220–$320; Extras typically pays $120–$250 (per check-up & clean).

(Estimate only — your insurer has the final say)

Check-ups, cleans, X-rays and simple fillings are general dental, partly covered by most Extras. Crowns and root canals are major dental, and orthodontics is usually separate — often only on mid or top cover.

Qualifications and registration

Dentists must be registered with Ahpra (Dental Board). You can check by name or registration number on the Ahpra website.

Good to know

  • Before fillings or crowns, ask for a quote with item numbers and check the rebate with your insurer.
  • Some insurers pay more at their partner dentists.
