How Extras usually pays

Typical price $180–$280; Extras typically pays $40–$90 (per 50-minute session).

Psychology is covered on many mid and top policies; each session gets part back. You can't claim the same session from both Medicare and Extras.

Qualifications and registration

Psychologists must be registered with Ahpra (Psychology Board).

  • Your GP can prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan so Medicare covers part of the cost.
