Back, neck & sports injuries

Physio, chiropractic, osteopathy, exercise physiology

What it is

Physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths assess pain or movement problems and use hands-on treatment and exercise to help you recover. Exercise physiologists design an exercise plan for your condition.

Who it's for

People with back or neck pain, stiff joints, sports injuries, or needing rehab after surgery.

How often

As planned by your practitioner — often more often at first, then less.

How Extras usually covers it

Typical price $90–$130; Extras typically pays $30–$60 (per follow-up visit).

(Estimate only — your insurer has the final say)

Each visit gets part of the fee back; initial visits usually get a little more. Many policies share one limit across physio, chiro and osteo; some keep them separate.

Good to know

  • Your practitioner will assess whether treatment suits you. We make no promises about results.
  • Work or car-accident injuries may be claimed elsewhere — check first.
